I’m going home again    where it all began    Where I first learned to play my guitar    Under stars and setting suns and I miss that old porch swing    where I used to sing    to heal my first broken heart   forever young Since she’s been gone I can't carry on.        Strum a few chords with the rain on the leaves and find me a song I can sing in the rain………….In the Sweet Country Rain bridge Just a few hours new river to cross….    the old water tower’s in sight I know where I’m headed, but inside I’m lost        I can’t get her out of my mind Yea I’m leaving the city life    being out all night    I can’t sleep ‘less the TV is on    There’s just no songs left there to write Cause I can’t hear my angel sing    or the words she’d bring        All my rhythms are wrong    I don’t belong without her in my life So I’m headed back to the cool mountain breeze    Strum a few chords with the rain on the leaves and find me a song I can sing in the rain …..in The Sweet Country Rain I’m going home again    where it all began    with just my guitar    Under stars and all my  shame ….and The Sweet Country Rain

I remember long ago, I wasn’t much more than a child I saw the death of a King and President  Saw the cities set on fire I watched the war in Vietnam Don’t ask what we were fighting for Or how 4 college kids were killed  while shouting “Peace Not War” Into the Mist into the fire The clenching of fist making it harder    That nothing is ever gonna change   Heal the world one soul at a time   I’m much older now, things haven’t changed that much I saw the death of many who died today, from an illness made by man They say they fight for equal rights, while setting the cities on fire. Is it me or you they really want or is it just for greed. Into the Mist into the fire -smoke in our eyes The clenching of fist  making it harder   - to see through the lies That nothing is ever gonna change   Heal the world one soul at a time
